William & Kate Pledge Their Support for Injured Rugby Players

Yesterday, William & Kate pledged their support for the Welsh Rugby Charitable Trust (WRCT) at a reception before the 5.15pm kick-off of the Wales V New Zealand rugby match. This was held at Millenium Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.

The charity is dedicated to helping people who have been seriously injured playing rugby.

The Welsh Red Dragons hosted the All Blacks of New Zealand. Unfortunately the attendance of the royal couple did not boost Wales fortune, with the home team losing to their rivals 33-10.

Kate chose red in support of Wales’ rugby team, the Red Dragons. She wore her belted LK Bennett 'Ami'  coat which was seen in November last year when the couple visited UNICEF’s Emergency Supply Centre in Copenhagen.

The wool coat comes from LK Bennett’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection and features a high collar, epaulets, and a waist-clinching belt.

The Duchess of Cambridge teamed the look with a pair of black Aquatalia Rhumba boots and a red Gucci monogram canvas horsebit clutch w/chain Gucci (£1200 and no longer available) from the brand’s 1921 Collection (thanks to 'My Small Obsessions' on FB for the ID).

Completing her outfit, Kate wore her gold Catherine Zoraida Double Leaf earrings.

Also of note, Kate's hair looks a little different. It seems she has trimmed her bangs.

  1. I love this coat - it's so Kate's style - long and columnar looking and the color is stunning. I am not sure about the new layers on her hair - like that it helps balance out the heavy look of the bottom of her hair. But it's a ordinary look - not quite enough maybe was cut into layers - looks a bit like she did it herself - which might not be a bad guess considering she is know for doing her own makeup a lot of the time. I so want to see her with her hair pulled back more often. It falls into her beautiful face too much so that it hides her or she is hiding behind it. Seems from what I read, Wills likes it long and down and she does have amazing hair.
