Following a short reception, Kate went to the school's nursery where she was presented with a baby gift of a willow tree and a card entitled 'What Does A Princess Do?,' that younger pupils had made especially for her visit. Then she was given a shovel to plant a willow tree for the school.

The Duchess opted to wear a summery, silk crepe 'Sophia' dress by Erdem (£1248). It's rare to see Kate choosing such a bold print. The demure, knee-length dress featured Erdem's signature 'Visconti-bloom' print, elbow-length sleeves, and a square neckline.

The 'Sophia' dress is available on Net-A-Porter, Matches Fashion and Bergdorf Goodman.

In my opinion, I think this dress was a rare miss for Kate. I may be in the minority but it looked like a dress that could be worn to a luau or on a tropical island vacation.

The Duchess topped off the look with a pair of blue bespoke Alexander McQueen suede heels, a matching Stuart Weitzman navy suede Muse clutch, the Asprey 167 Button pendant and her Annoushka Pearl Drop Earrings (£1,090). She left her glossy hair loose and bouncy.
