They're Here! William & Kate Arrive in New York

Yesterday, the Royal Couple touched down at JFK airport on a first class British Airways scheduled flight from London's Heathrow. They were met by US Chief of Protocol Peter Selfridge, the Queen's ambassador to the US Sir Peter Westmacott, his wife Susie, and Consul General Danny Lopez.

From the airport, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were whisked into the city where they were greeted by cheering crowds at the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan's affluent Upper East Side.

Fans waited in freezing temperatures to catch a glimpse and welcome the couple for their three day whirlwind royal tour.

Even the City of New York paid the Duke and Duchess the ultimate compliment by lighting the Empire State Building red, white and blue to greet them.

William and Kate were welcomed to the Carlyle Hotel by the Carlyle Managing Director Giovanni Beretta. They briefly posed for photographers before being taken to their room - a suite with stunning views of Central Park.

The hotel will be the couple's base until they fly back to the UK immediately after their last engagement on Tuesday night.

The current consensus on Twitter is that Kate could possibly have shopped her closet for her black suede booties. A photo popped up from as far back as December 2009 wearing a pair of similar booties. They were not ID'ed at the time so stay tuned for updates!

There may be a possible ID on Kate's booties (thanks to a follower on WKW). They could possibly be the 'Namora D - BLACK' Plain Platform Shoe Boot by Dune London. These booties originally retailed for $195 but went on sale for $62. They are currently sold out and there is no word if they will be restocked.
